Over the course of my career, I've been hired to shoot countless destination weddings. I've traveled all over the United States, to Mexico, the Caribbean, and as far away as India. I specialize in destination affairs, which is key in hiring a destination wedding photographer. There's a lot more involved than most people think, and it's imperative that you find a photographer that understands the LOGISTICS involved in taking on such a task. From passports to work visas to travel arrangements, accommodations and everything in between, you want to find a photographer that understands these things well enough to ensure that you're not becoming overwhelmed with the process (remember, wedding planning should be fun, right?!)
This photo was shot in beautiful Sully, Maine, about an hour from Bangor and Acadia National Park. It's one of my favorite settings for a wedding, as it was small, intimate, and allowed the time to make strong connections with the clients, their friends and families --- which ultimately helped make gorgeous photos. The wedding was set on the family's private property on a lake, and we had access to the most beautiful natural surroundings. I had a blast hiking around the woods with the bride and groom to create some unique, documentary style photos with a woodsy flair, and they couldn't have been happier to be along for the ride!
